DMC has extensive experience assisting with newsletter development. We helped an international law firm launch a family of newsletters focused on the financial industry.

Displayed here: These are two examples of newsletters that we helped develop and continue to support. Our services include review of source material to help identify story ideas, creation of production schedules and coordination of writing assignments, article ghostwriting and editing, and production oversight.

DMC founder Ritchenya Dodd served as editor and managing editor for a Washington, D.C.-based legal newsletter publisher.

We also have helped write:

  • A letter to the editor for the CEO of a biotechnology company, which was published in a national news publication
  • An op-ed for the general counsel of a major trade association that was published in a national business magazine, and a legal article for same GC that was published by a political advocacy group

DMC often is retained to assist with the development of media communications, including reporter backgrounders and pitches, news releases, FAQs and more. We have a great track record for writing news-style pitches that catch the attention of major publications, and have developed a particular focus in assisting with media crisis response.

Displayed here: The first example is an Associated Press placement we obtained for Seeger Weiss LLP. We were retained to alert the media to a law suit filed on behalf of foster children alleging abuse at the residential center entrusted with their care. We drafted the pitch and placed the story in The New York Times, the AP, and generated on-air coverage from CNBC and several New York metropolitan stations.

Displayed here: The second example is a product launch announcement that we helped write for a biotechnology company. The client originally hired DMC to help with crisis response, when the company became aware that it was about to be the subject of an inaccurate story in a major national publication. We worked with company officials, legal counsel and PR counsel to develop crisis communications, including extensive answers to reporter questions, detailed response materials for the company's Web site, a letter to the editor, and communications with key constituencies such as investors.

In addition to these projects, we:

  • Wrote a media backgrounder on a Philadelphia litigator that resulted in a full-page profile in Forbes
  • Wrote a backgrounder describing a legal team’s pro-bono defense of an Amish group, which resulted in coverage in The New York Times
