Media Communications*

DMC often is retained to assist with the development of media communications, including reporter backgrounders and pitches, news releases, FAQs and more. We have a great track record for writing news-style pitches that catch the attention of major publications, and have developed a particular focus in assisting with media crisis response.

For example, we:

  • Were retained by a biotechnology company with an exciting new product, which received notice that it was about to be the subject of a potentially inaccurate story in a major national publication. DMC immediately sprang into action, working around the clock with company officials, legal counsel and PR counsel to develop crisis communications materials, including extensive answers to reporter questions, detailed response materials for the company’s Web site, a letter to the editor, communications with key constituencies such as investors, and a product launch announcement.
  • Wrote a media backgrounder on a Philadelphia litigator that resulted in a full-page profile in Forbes.
  • Drafted a backgrounder for a New York litigator on a case he filed, and pitched the story, resulting in high-profile coverage by numerous major media outlets, including the Associated Press, The New York Times, CNBC and several New York metropolitan television stations.
  • Drafted talking points for members of senior management of a global law firm in preparation for potential breaking news.
  • Wrote a backgrounder on a legal team’s pro-bono defense of an Amish group, which resulted in coverage in The New York Times.

Web Content*

At DMC, our professionals have years of experience developing Web content. We have written content for the sites of several leading international and domestic law firms, including one of the top fifteen largest law firms in the world, several top-tier Washington, D.C. firms, a New York complex litigation firm and a business consulting firm.

In addition, we have written news articles and other informative content for online publications. We were retained to ghostwrite news-style articles and summaries for two Web sites devoted to advertising law over a period of four years.

Business Development Consulting

At DMC, we have broad business development experience.

DMC head Ritchenya Dodd was retained as a consultant to support the business development efforts of a global law firm’s multidisciplinary financial services team. She helped create business plans, develop marketing materials, prepare responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) and prepare team presentations (in-house and client pitches). She planned a major conference in New York for leaders in the financial services industry from government, business and law.

We have written and edited numerous legal services proposals in response to corporate requests for proposals (RFPs) and understand and respect the confidentiality issues involved in being retained for such projects. In addition, DMC was retained to edit a large quantity of content to be included in a major law firm’s proposal generator database.

Recently, DMC has developed an area of focus in assisting professionals to design personal marketing plans. Our simple, four-step process helps clients to:

  • Identify their target audience
  • Develop a key message that meets the needs of their audience
  • Prioritize and link marketing efforts
  • Reach out to business prospects

Our approach helps clients maximize the use of their limited time and marketing resources, while maximizing results.
